'WhereAs, Old Klang Road' started as an initiative that aims to archive the essence of a place. Pasar Batu 4 1/2 Jalan Klang Lama is our chosen first stop.
Pasar Batu 4 1/2 Jalan Klang Lama has stood at its site for more than 40 years. Drawing pasar, which has been slowly disappearing from our sight, with the aid of creative interpretation from artists.
'In 𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆𝑨𝑺, 𝑶𝒍𝒅 𝑲𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑹𝒐𝒂𝒅 we invite and collaborate with creatives to be part of artistic and cultural archival. 𝑫𝒓𝒂𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒓 starts with the simply idea to archive the presence of stalls and trades in pasar, in drawings .
We always been facisnated with how stalls owner arrange and decorate their stall, with freedom creativity, their ‘this way sell best’ display, preparation process, ownership and belonging.
Some of the trades and stall owner facing challenges on their livelihood and business, and some of our pasar friends has slowly moved out from their trades.
15 illustrators will be recording 15 stalls in Pasar Old Klang Road.'
